BALTIMORE CHORAL ARTS PRESENTS: Christmas with Choral Arts
A 40 year tradition continues as Baltimore Choral Arts returns to the Baltimore Basilica at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 3 for the annual Christmas with Choral Arts concert! The Baltimore Choral Arts chorus, led by Music Director Anthony Blake Clark, will perform a lively selection of Christmas songs, traditional carols, and festive sing-alongs.
This year, Tom Hall, Music Director Emeritus, will reunite with the chorus to serve as the narrator for the concert. Hall led Baltimore Choral Arts as music director for over 30 years and continues to support the arts in Maryland. He can be heard as the host of Midday, the highly rated news and public policy program, on WYPR. Hall will join this year's Christmas with Choral Arts performance as narrator and share several poignant readings throughout the event.
Collaboration is one of the true joys of the holiday season, and in that spirit Choral Arts will once again be joined by the esteemed Morgan State University Choir, led by director Eric Conway. Named the "Best College Choir" in 2004 by Reader's Digest magazine, the Morgan State University Choir performs worldwide, with critical acclaim. Featured soloist Darrin Scott, tenor, will accompany the choirs on several uplifting holiday songs, including "O Holy Night," "God Bless Us Everyone," and a new composition, "Our Merryland" which will be featured in an upcoming children's book about the holidays in Maryland.
This year, Baltimore Choral Arts is partnering with the Kennedy Krieger Institute to hold a Christmas toy drive at the concert. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy or make a monetary donation to suppoort Kennedy Krieger's mission to transform the lives of children with disorders of the brain through groundbreaking research, innovative treatments and life-changing education. Learn more about the toy drive here.
Tickets to Christmas with Choral Arts start at $32; kids under 12 free
